Nowadays, wire and cable materials development and improvement are very important work, especially the sheath material. Currently in China, wire and cable sheathing materials are mostly low-end products, while problems exist in high-end sheathing materials, such as cost, etc. Using fluoroplastic or crosslinked polyethylene as a replacement will causes problems. Although fluoroplastic may meet product requirements, it will increase the cost, which is a big challenge to company capital. Crosslinked polyethylene cannot meet certain requirements, besides the processing is labor-consuming. This brings us to a dilemma in wire and cable industry. TPEE (thermoplastic polyester elastomer), it has properties of: good creep resistance, impact and fatigue resistance, high impact strength and good low temperature flexibility, may serve ranging from -70 ℃ to 150 ℃, and it resist to chemicals, oil, solvents and weather aging, also has high tensile strength and high abrasion resistance, easy processing and economic, excellent insulating properties, etc. TPEE materials will be used more widely in wire and cable products, contribute more in improving wire performance.
No matter wire or its outer sheath, there are materials are specific requirements for wire and cable material. And currently a new material for high-end use with high performance is badly needed. TPEE fits those requirements perfectly. It has a wide range of superior performance, including heat resistance, impact resistance, fatigue resistance, abrasion resistance. With these supreme properties, TPEE enters the wire market quickly, fills blank of high-end using, and it is widely used in special cable market, such as ship and boat, mining, military, aerospace, and some cable sheath with special requirements. TPEE is becoming widely used in cable & wire industry. Extrusion grade TPEE is good for insulation material which contacts copper wire directly. It has excellent heat resistance, flexibility and creep resistance and good dielectric properties, and it is widely used hose, sheath, wire, cable sheathing, truck cables, mechanical arm wires, data wires, audio and video wires, thin insulated electric wire, motorcycle wire, subways, ships and other end use with high safety requirements.
