One: Dry          

1. Before extrusion, whether the package is good or not, all TPEE must be dried. TPEE has hydrolysis resistance at normal temperature, and it doesn’t react with the moisture in the air, and it has weak water absorption. In order to obtain perfect productions, the material needs to be dried before use. Insufficiently dried TPEE tend to cause processing difficulties, which lead to molecular weight changes and mechanical performance reduction, extrusion products rough surface, wall thickness isn’t uniform so that physical properties reduction. Before processing, TPEE must be dried to moisture 500ppm (0.05%) or less.        

TPEE has minor hydrophilic properties, it may cause material degradation when extruding. When processing, we recommend use right after open the package and transfer to hopper. The hopper should be full filled and dehumidifying dryer should be used.        

2. If you are coloring with pigment or color masterbatch, the materials should be dried after mixed with TPEE particles.

Drying conditions: 110 ℃ hot air drying 4 hours                                  

                                         Desiccant 3 hours

(If sample is too little, oven can be used. Sample particles are spreaded in oven, to make sure that every single particle can be dried) processing immediately after drying

Four: hopper and the feed inlet

Single-screw extruder commonly used type of overhead or tangential inlet TPEE products can meet the processing requirements recommended cooling water inlet to prevent the resin at the time of entering the screw temperature is too high, so that not only guarantee the delivery of materials while protecting dynamic bearing.

Five: Extruder cleaning

You need some downtime, PS or HDPE can be used to clean the feed tube. Head and joints, subject to usage, after a period of time to clean the accumulated char

Six: Die Design

In order to be able to have a smooth flow of material, and to facilitate cleaning of the die, the die should be designed to avoid dead ends. Shaped tube or to be used elongate extrusion die, in addition to reducing shear stress, but there will be more stable extrusion amount, its length is 2 to 4 times the diameter of the nozzle

Seven: Cooling and setting

TPEE cooling tank equipment, usually longer than the general thermoplastic plastic, length depending on the material specification, extrusion shapes, sections and drawing speed. Since the coefficient of friction than the average TPEE thermoplastic plastic is high, so the setting Yijiao difficult, high hardness lower than the hardness of easy stereotypes TPEE

Eight: color processing:

Try to use as a carrier of masterbatch in TPEE, such as the use of color copies, please do not add oil dispersant

Nine: recycled material handling:

Recycled materials can be used in combination with the new material, but the amount should not exceed 25%, but must be dried before use again.

Ten: Selection aid

TPEE in acid medium, will degrade at high temperatures. Therefore, TPEE can not cope with the acidic additives.
